Configuring Microsoft Office Outlook 2003

To get to the settings or setup a new account, click on Tools in the upper left. In the Tools menu, select Account Settings….

To add a new account, select Add a new email account then enter the info it requests. Select View or change existing email accounts to check settings of an email account already setup.

Add or Change Account

Select the email account you want to view the settings for, and click the Change… button to the right.

E-mail Accounts

Basic settings are shown below. Click on More Settings… in the lower right to check advanced configuration.

Internet E-mail Settings

Outgoing server settings are shown below. Check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.

Outgoing Server Settings

Advanced settings are shown below. For POP3, the Incoming server port should be 110 or 995. For IMAP, the Incoming server port should be 143 or 993. Check This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL). Set the Outgoing server (SMTP) port to 587. Check This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL).

POP3 (Incoming)
Server: pop3.pacific.net
mail.pacific.net
Port: 995 (TLS/SSL enabled)
110 (STARTTLS enabled)
Username: user@pacific.net
Password: Email address password
SMTP (Outgoing)
Server: smtp.pacific.net
Do not use mail.pacific.net!
Port: 587 (STARTTLS enabled)
Username: user@pacific.net
Password: Email address password
Authentication is required.
